DESCRIPTION
Sac State’s UNIQUE Programs is humbled to announce its first-ever WEUSI music festival, set to take place from noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, outdoors on Serna Plaza. This event is free to students and the general public.

“For years, we’ve brainstormed ways to bring weekend entertainment to our students,” UNIQUE Programs Advisor, Ajamu Lamumba, said. “We are excited to bring a new weekend festival which can be celebrated annually for years to come.”

The WEUSI Music Festival aims to bring unity to the Sac State community. Amazing amenities such as food trucks, campus resources, games and activities will be available for attendees. Sac State students will be eligible to participate in the giveaways, which will include gifts such as gas gift cards, a free Spring 2023 parking pass and more.

“We really want to give back to Sac State students,” said Izel Castillo, the UNIQUE Programs Student Assistant. “There are lots of great prizes for those who want to participate in the giveaway.”

As Sac State forges into its second year of on-campus activities since the COVID-19 pandemic, UNIQUE Programs is eager to bring the community together through a wide range of music. Performers will be announced soon!

“When programming the WEUSI Festival, we wanted to showcase a variety of music genres which reflected the beautiful diversity of Sacramento,” explained Elysse Fresquez, a recent Sac State graduate.

UNIQUE is ecstatic to bring fresh and diverse entertainment to the Sac State – where students are accepted, respected and connected. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.
