Artist Statement

In creating art, artists are uncovering clues to further understand their creative selves.

Representing these current discoveries, the members of FORM have assembled a collective body of work revolving around the concept of identity. To each artist, this takes on a different meaning. Some directly investigate this idea within their work; in others, their medium is a reflection of their own persona. Ultimately, identity is a driving current through the art-making process. By encompassing both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work, Revealing Identity is a group exhibition that unveils the defining characteristics of each represented artist.

The FORM art club was formed in 2014 and is comprised of Sac State students, all of whom share an interest and appreciation in art. Though most are studio art majors, the club is open to anyone, and encourages all who like art to join. The club’s vision is to act as a valuable art resource for its members, while also contributing to the campus art community.
