DESCRIPTION

Sacramento State’s The University Union UNIQUE Programs and Student Health & Counseling Services are pleased to announce the 13th Annual Benefit Production of The Vagina Monologues at Sacramento State on Thursday, February 18, 2016 starting 7 pm in The University Union Ballroom. Show will promptly begin at 7:30 pm.

Event tickets are $5 for Sac State students, $7 for community college students and $10 for the general public.

Eve Ensler, a playwright and feminist, wrote The Vagina Monologues. The monologues are a compilation of Ensler’s interviews with hundreds of women on their views and experiences of sex, relationships, and violence and cover issues of intimacy, vulnerability, and sexual self-discovery. Sac State’s production will include only student actresses reciting the dialogues. The Vagina Monologues are part of V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.

The monologues are performed nationwide only during the months of February and March and the proceeds typically go to programs that work to end violence against women and girls. The proceeds from this 13th annual Sac State stage production will go to My Sister’s House. My Sister’s House is an organization that addresses the needs of Asian and Pacific Islander women and children impacted by domestic violence.

All ages permitted. No alcohol sold or permitted at venue.
