DESCRIPTION

Sacramento State’s The University Union UNIQUE Programs is pleased to announce an evening of comedy by Trevor Moore on Thursday, April 2, 2015 starting 7:30 pm in The University Union Ballroom. The event is FREE admission to both Sacramento State students and the general public.

Trevor Moore is known for his participation in the award-winning debauched comedy troupe, The Whitest Kids U’ Know. Alongside Sam Brown, Zach Cregger, Darren Trumeter and Timmy Williams, they brought an epic run of ground-breaking sketch comedy to the screen.

The Whitest Kids U’ Know began in 2000 when Trevor Moore transferred from Charlottesville, Virginia to New York’s School of Visual Arts (SVA) film program. This comedy troupe held near-monthly free shows at SVA’s amphitheater, which would frequently fill to capacity. In 2003, they reinvented the troupe by touring the various comedy venues in New York City, including a special perform at Caroline’s- a famous stand-up comedy club in Time Square.

According to an IFC interview, Trevor Moore says that the group’s name originated during a freestyle rapping session on a subway, when one of their friends said, “You guys are the whitest kids I know.”

Additionally, Moore collaborated in various occasions with shows on Comedy Central. He released a debut album from Comedy Central in March 2013 called Drunk Texts to Myself. He directed and starred in complementary musical videos for his album also produced by Comedy Central. Drunk Texts to Myself is Moore’s way to represent contradiction in different instances of society using a variety of musical forms, going from rap and metal to country and pop. He performs his music with some friends on a tour around the United States.

All ages permitted. No alcohol sold or permitted at venue.
