The concert will be hosted at the University Union Serna Plaza on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 12 pm. This event is free for students and the general public.

Island of Black and White was founded in the foothills of El Dorado Hills, California. Their music is a sweet, humble, yet raw blend of acoustic rock, funky reggae and soulful blues. It is a mixture like no other. The quartet exerts high energy performances while frequenting local venues, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, music festivals and various other events. With over 40 originals, the unique sound of Island of Black and White today captures the afternoon of those young and old. With Chris Haislet, Nawal Alwareeth and Justin Maddux, it is apparent for anyone watching, that the band shares an immense love for their music. Not only does the band enjoy playing, but their incredible performances engage all who listen; and the energy is shared with the entire crowd.

This event is in support of Hornet Weeks of Welcome, a kick-off celebration for incoming and returning students of Sacramento State that features various events all over campus.

All ages permitted. No alcohol sold or permitted at venue.
