DESCRIPTION

Sacramento State’s University Union UNIQUE Programs is pleased to announce a Wednesday Nooner concert featuring Jahny Wallz. The concert will be hosted at the University Union Redwood Room on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12 pm. This event is free for students and the general public.

Ivan Paredes, also known as Jahny Wallz, was born in Mexicali B.C. Mexico, the youngest of five. He was exposed to diverse music from a very young age but did not dream of becoming a perfomer until he was in college. He began studying various instruments, styles of music, performing, and alleviating his growing pains through songwriting.

Despite having a turbulent childhood and being on his own since the age of sixteen, music always found a way to sooth Jahny Wallz’s pain. “I did not choose music, music chose me” is something Jahny Wallz frequently says during his performances. His music quest is fueld by his life struggles and two major musical influences, Santana and Bob Marley. While pursuing a career in the music industry in Los Angeles, the CSU Chico graduate founded JW Productions, and has since worked production for Telemundo, Backline Tech for Garibay Bros Sound, as a percussionist for Graciela Beltran, Online Marketing for M Entertainment, and as a talent scout / producer at Pig Sound Studios.

All ages permitted. No alcohol sold or permitted at venue. Open to the general public.
