Show Information

Zion I are a hip hop duo from Oakland, California, consisting of DJ/producer AmpLive and MC Zumbi. The group is known to its followers for Amp's futuristic production techniques, using a mix of live instrumentation and samples, and Zumbi's positive and socially conscious lyrics. Zion I debuted in 1997 with the locally distributed cassette-only EP Enter the Woods. Their first single on indie label Ground Control Records, "Inner Light" paved the way for an album deal. In 2000, they released the critically acclaimed Mind Over Matter. In total, they have released seven studio albums, Mind Over Matter, Deep Water Slang V2.0, True & Livin', Break a Dawn—a Japan exclusive, Heroes in the City of Dope—a collaborative album with The Grouch, The Take Over, Atomic Clock, and in 2011 another collaborative album with The Grouch, Heroes in the Healing of the Nation.

ANGOR REPUBLIC:Established in early 2014, this “anything” rebel duo started off on two very distinctive paths; MKSMTH has been producing music and DJing since 2006, formally a part of the Bay Area group, League510. He recently concluded the Masters of Ceremony Winter Tour with Zion I. Prior to introducing the world to his DJ talent, Daghe, the Owner and Creative Director of Cre8tiveClass Mindstyle and Apparel Company, expressed his creativity through apparel and graphic design, as well as photojournalism and blogging.  Finding a new way to express his genuine love for music, Daghe began taking lessons from MKSMTH to acquire the skills of DJing and mixing EDM sets. In only a few months, they have created a lavish list of mixes on Soundcloud, produced a Yeezus refix, titled Jump In It, and have performed sets all over the Bay Area. This may be your introduction to ANGOR REPUBLIC, but it surely will not be the last time you hear from them.
